On the PS2 version, the opponent count is only 3. The player races in urban environments with 5 other computer trucks. The player is given the option to race against 3 other competitors in urban environments that are unlocked by winning races. The player is given two minutes to perform in freestyle and gain points to win.
Eventually, the player ends up at The World Finals. Winning a competition will result in the player being advanced to the next show. I spoke to a friend who sent the next day and he said he had the same experience with his family.The player is given the option to select a truck and compete in stadium racing and freestyle events. There was no doughnut competition at all. Only one truck did a wheelie in the wheelie competition.

It appeared as if most of the drivers were new or inexperienced. This performance was definitely underwhelming. My 5 year old son is a big fan of monster jam so we’ve been attending for the last few years. Also once u enter the arena u can’t leave at all so expect to pay hella money for concessions and treats since water was even $5 a bottle. Only one mound to jump over and nothing else made this show highly boring. The intermission was decent with the bikes show but the actual monster trucks were not very good. It became very repetitive and my kids who are 4&5 quickly got bored. The venue was way too little for the show so the trucks didn’t have enough room to do most of their tricks. The pit party was decent but the actual show was not what we expected. We were highly disappointed with the show at the arena in Hildago. Rating: 2 out of 5 So much failure by Monster rookie on 9/21/23 Allstate Arena - Rosemont.Perhaps the monster trucks crushing some cars! I'd like to see it again in a much bigger arena with more than 1 jump in the middle. Was expecting some type of finale but that didn't happen the clock just ran out for Grave Digger's freestyle. Overall cool experience for the kids, the All-State arena is a bit small for the trucks and the speaker sound quality was not great.
